Robots at the Hanger

2014-04-10

Ever see robots on tv or in the movies? Think The Jetsons, Bicentennial Man, or iRobot. Thinking that it’s all fictional, that there is no way these stories could play out? Well maybe not quite yet, but potentially in the near future.

As technology advances, the capabilities of robots are increasing at an astounding rate as well. They aren’t necessarily our servants, like in the movies, but they sure are helping get the job done! Robots now have the capability to:

  • Explore distant planets and capture rare images of our solar system, allowing us to research further into the galaxy due to their durability and size
  • Perform high-risk and precise surgeries, robots can be more precise than the human hand
  • Fight fires by precisely targeting water hoses and moving debris to keep firefighters out of danger

Wings Over the Rockies invites you to come experience this thriving, innovative field and meet with robotics specialists, inventors and robot enthusiasts this Sunday, April 13th 12:00pm to 5:00pm.

Watch live robotic demonstrations and participate in engaging activities and get a firsthand look at one of the robots used by the Denver Bomb Squad.

All robotic activities are included with general Museum admission! Free for Museum Members.

The Wings over the Rockies Air & Space Museum is located at 7711 East Academy Boulevard Denver, CO 80230. For more information visit www.wingsmuseum.org/.
