Holiday Light Displays

Denver Boatic Gardens Holiday lightsSeveral organizations in the Denver metro area host annual holiday light displays from December – January.  These amazing events take place (mostly outdoors) at their respective locations.  The Denver Botanic Gardens’ Blossoms of Light features lights of every color decorated on the trees, plants and buildings of the garden, turning it into a winter wonderland. The Botanic Gardens also has a similar display at their Chatfield location, called Trail of Lights.  Both locations are open nightly, from 5:30-9 PM, from Dec. 5, 2014 through Jan. 1, 2015.  Blossoms of Light is also open Christmas Eve, Dec. 25, and New Year's Eve.

The Denver Zoo hosts Zoo Lights, a similar display with 38 acres of holiday lights decorating the paths of the zoo with animated animal sculptures that bring life to the zoo at night. Zoo Lights is open from 5:30-9 PM starting December 5 through January 4.

The Butterfly Pavilion’s Living Lights takes place both indoors and outdoors.  Inside, the tropical rainforest and interactive animal exhibits are part of the event, as well as the outdoor gardens with LED light sculptures.  The indoor animal exhibits feature animals that produce light through bioluminescence!  Living Lights is open from 6-9 PM, December 5 – January 11.
