Celebrate Dia del Niño This Weekend

The Mexican Cultural Center presents their annual Dia del Niño celebrations this weekend! Dia del Niño (Children’s Day) is a day that celebrates children and offers free cultural activities for them to enioy!

On Saturday, April 25, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science will celebrate by offering a free day from 9 AM – 5 PM.  The celebration will also include special activities: music and dance performances by Los Chinelos, Mexico Mixto, Danza Guadalupana Matachina, and Cleo Parker Robinson Dance; face painting; crafts; visits from Colorado sports mascots; a Museum-wide scavenger hunt; and One Book for Colorado readings in English and Spanish. In addition, visitors can explore the new exhibit, Mythic Creatures: Dragons, Unicorns, and Mermaids, which is included free with general admission.

On Sunday, April 26, the Denver Art Museum is hosting their Dia del Niño celebration. The museum is offering free admission from 11 AM – 4 PM and special activities that celebrate children from around the world at the Denver Art Museum complex, Denver Public Library, Clyfford Still Museum, History Colorado Center, and the Byers-Evans House Museum. In addition, the Denver Art Museum will present music and dance performances.

Schedule of performances:

11–11:45 AM: Dance performances on Acoma Plaza (outside North Building)

11:45 AM-12:00 PM: Opening Ceremony on Acoma Plaza

12:05–4 PM: Dance performances on Acoma Plaza, in Ponti Hall (North Building) and Sharp Auditorium (Hamilton Building)
