It's that time of year again...

Alright everyone. Now that we are beyond the candy and costumes, it is time for the most wonderful time of the year.

It's Denver Arts Week! That magical week that comes once a year, bringing artistic joy. This year, the arts and cultural merriment will last November 6-14.

It all starts tonight with the monthly Denver First Friday. Tonight, museums and galleries will stay open late so those of us working 9-5 can enjoy a special Friday evening filled with art, culture, and creativity. In addition to the usual First Friday repertoire, tonight will also feature Denver Arts Week events. Check out the preview event of this year's Colorado Ballet's production of the Nutcracker in the arts District on Santa Fe. Or go celebrate Dia de los Muertos with creating your own paper alters, sugar skulls, face painting, and live entertainment at Museo de las Americas.

Already have plans tonight? Don't fret, Denver Arts Week will last until the 14th and there are plenty more opportunities to enjoy the cultural flavor of the Denver metro area. There will be discounted and free performances throughout the week by the Colorado Symphony, Colorado Ballet, and more. Did I mention the Denver Film Society is hosting the Denver Film Festival this week as well?

And if that weren't enough, there will be plenty of opportunities for the kids to enjoy. For this whole month, the Butterfly Pavillion will be offering a $2 discount on admission prices. On November 7th, Four Mile Historic Park will host a free night. Running from November 8-11, the Denver Botanic Gardens will host science demonstrations (included in admission).

But don't get overwhelmed. Check out the Denver Art Week website to customize your own Denver Arts Week and enjoy all the arts and culture our city has to offer.

Happy Denver Arts Week, everyone!
