POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Director provides administrative support to advance the strategic goals of Rocky Ridge Music. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, technologically savvy, and thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment to carry out the daily operations of RRM. This position reports to the Executive Director. The Assistant Director will live on the Rocky Ridge campus (465 Longs Peak Rd. Estes Park, CO 80517) from mid- May to mid-August every year.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with HR related functions including but not limited to payroll, search announcements, reference checks, contracts, and other related employment paperwork for faculty, staff, work-study students, and counselors.
  • Implement digital and print marketing initiatives.
  • Improve and maintain comprehensive database including contacts for faculty, staff, trustees, alumni, donors, students, parents, etc.
  • Provide effective support for student services (e.g. recruitment, registration, admission, financial aid, billing & collection).
  • Compile volunteer and non-paid internship needs, write job descriptions, and secure them in advance of the summer to meet anticipated needs.
  • Review and update Handbook and other organizational documents and forms as needed
  • Maximize use of available space through thoughtful scheduling of teaching hours and lodging; explore off campus lodging solutions as needed.
  • Manage RRM’s summer concerts and year-round events.
  • Lead efforts in getting the summer camp ready in cooperation with the Facility staff for season opening including coordination of cabin cleaning, activation of phones and internet, piano moving and tuning, merchandize ordering and stocking, and relocating the office computers, printers, and files from the Boulder to Estes Park campus.
  • Prepare and distribute documents for board, faculty, and other meetings as requested.
  • Conduct research, compile data, and prepare reports as requested.
  • Manage the Junior Advisory Membership (J.A.M.) process.
  • Other related functions as arises.DESIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in music or related field. Graduate certificate or degree in nonprofit arts management preferred.
  • Exceptional written and oral skills.
  • Previous supervisory and leadership experience.
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills, and ability to balance competing demands.
  • High computer proficiency, and desire to learn and apply new technology.
  • Ability to work independently, and exercise sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Experience with managing professional social media channels and digital marketing.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Drive, QuickBooks Online, payment software like Square and Stripe, DocuSign, Application platforms such as Acceptd, Constant Contact, Canva, and donor management software.
  • Patron service skills and previous experience with camps/education programs desirable.COMPENSATION
  • Salary Range: $40,000 to $45,000 (Commensurate with education & experience)

  • Time Commitment: This is a full-time, year-round exempt position
  • Start: March 15, 2023 (earlier start date negotiable)
  • Location: Boulder, CO (hybrid onsite and remote work from Sept to May), and Estes Park, CO (onsite residency required for the duration of the summer programs)
  • Reports to: Executive Director.
