Job Description: 


This is a 3 Quarter time position, eligible for benefits, working 30 hours week.


The Business Support II position is the joyful connection between the Experiences & Partnerships departments, supporting leadership efforts and division goals. The Business Support Team is a single point of contact for the division that supports our exhibits and educational programming. This three quarter time position would complement the Business Support Team with proficiency in project logistics, business administration, and leadership support. They would have a deep understanding of budget, financial, contract, and project management.

The best candidate will expertly navigate our digital systems to support team assignments. This individual would cultivate division collaboration; act as a constant resource for staff, and a

professional contact for community communications. The right person can manage multiple responsibilities, is proactive, self-motivated, and skilled at anticipating team needs for a fast-paced division. This person’s contributions will benefit the Experiences & Partnerships Community and Museum-wide presence.


Essential duties: 

  • Acts as reception and public interface for the division and provides routine information, refers problems to appropriate person for resolution, and handles day-to-day administrative tasks.
  • Provides administrative support to department leadership, projects, and staff.
  • Supports the preparation of department plans, manages budgets and reports, and supports the delivery of planned goals.
  • Utilizes a computer to input and access routine information.
  • Schedules and attends meetings as requested, and prepares minutes and agendas. Coordinates department events and programs as required.


Minimum qualifications/Requirements: 


  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 3 years’ experience providing administrative support to a large department or equivalent work experience required.
  • 3 years’ experience budget tracking and financial coordination required.
  • May need to operate a museum vehicle. Valid U.S. Driver’s License within 1 week of hire required.
  • Occasional evenings and weekends required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required.

  • Be proactive, self-motivated, anticipate needs, and problem solve from a place of curiosity
  • Build relationships and work across teams in a collaborative manner
  • Work productively in a fast-paced environment while courteously managing day-to-day requests.
  • Bi-lingual, some Spanish preferred
