Our Opportunity

We are seeking a Community Events Specialist and Driver within the Experiences & Partnerships (E&P) division. This position is responsible for planning and supporting the logistics of community events, driving the Curiosity Cruiser (truck and trailer) to sites across the metro Denver area, supporting events, including setting up and breaking down, greeting guests, and building relationships with community members and partners. There has never been a more exciting time to work for the Museum, and in this position, you will be at the forefront of bringing the Museum’s brand new mobile experience into the community!

The person will drive an F-350 truck pulling an 11,000-pound trailer as needed for events. If you don’t have the experience but are willing to learn, we will provide the training.

 

DMNS Community Engagement

Our community has long asked for DMNS to bring unique nature and science experiences and resources to their schools, fairs, festivals, parks, and neighborhoods. In 2022, we are hitting the road with a brand-new experience, the Museum on Wheels: Curiosity Cruiser. This expandable, custom-built trailer will reach new adult and family audiences at a variety of venues and locations across the metro Denver area.

As a Community Events Specialist and Driver, this person will be responsible for:

Program Operations and Logistics

Prepares for events and program delivery by ensuring that we have everything we need before we take off – documentation, logistics confirmed, supplies.  Museum on Wheels Driving and Event Support

Responsible for transporting Curiosity Cruiser (truck and trailer) to community events. (Up to 90 min radius from the Museum) May require pre-visit to ensure the site can support Cruiser set up.

Work with team to set up and take down experiences

Assumes an active role in creating an inclusive and meaningful experience for guests through skillful engagement and accomplished diversity, equity, access, and inclusion (DEAI) informed practice.

 

Content Creation and Training

Contributes to the development of new Museum experiences and updates of existing experiences in conjunction with project teams.

Supports training and onboarding for new staff and volunteers.

Works with community engagement team to support new community partnerships and experiences, including testing, prototyping, and evaluation from ideation through remediation.

Ensures team has training and resources needed to successfully deliver programs

 

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Must have a clean driving record.

1-year of experience in a customer-facing role.

Ability to work weekends and evenings for programs and events required.
