General description of position:
The Conservation Assistant is responsible for assisting with replanting the Panoramic Living Mural (“Living Wall”) at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre (“FGA”). The Living Wall is a monumental living botanical wall planted over the entrance vestibules and rear sound wall at FGA. Each year the Living Wall at FGA requires 35,000 new plants be replanted over the course of 3-4 weeks in early to mid-May. Conservation Assistants do not require any formal botanical training, nor landscape design experience, but must be organized, punctual and have strict attention to safety and detail
Major duties and responsibilities:
Assist with replanting of Panoramic Living Mural at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre:
- Arrive on time as directed and be able to commit to a minimum 4-hour workday at least 2 days a week for 3-4 weeks;
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds, have no fear of heights, and no allergies to plant/flower materials;
- Must be organized, punctual, and able to understand and carry out project and safety instructions;
- Tools, supplies, safety equipment, and work gloves will be provided, but employee must own clothing for work outdoor in variable temperatures. Clothing will not be provided.
Compensation: $30 per hour
