Denver Botanic Gardens is currently hiring for a Full Time Facilities Operations Coordinator in our Operations Department! Read below to see if the requirements might be a good fit for you:
This position acts as customer-oriented liaison between the Operations department and other DBG departments, collaborating to ensure a positive and pleasant visitor experience as well as the safety, cleanliness, functionality and visual appeal of the Denver Botanic Gardens.
Responsibilities include: coordination amongst departments for both public and private events to ensure timeliness and accuracy of event setup and breakdown; assigning and tracking work orders, completing the feedback loop and preparing reports;
High School Diploma or GED and six months facilities management experience with managing staff and vendors.
Must possess strong communication skills, both written and spoken,
excellent human relations skills;
strong organizational and computer skills and abilities.
Must possess valid Colorado Driver’s License.
Additional experience includes a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Manager Plus (or other CMMS) and standard office equipment.
Language Skills: Ability to ready, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with basic mathematical accounting and budgeting concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Essential Job Duties:
Communicates closely with Operations Staff and all other Department event coordination leads; Oversees event setup including generating diagrams within the software, tracking inventory, verifying setup information ensuring accurate, timely completion of setups.
Takes the lead in event setups.
Responsible for prioritizing, scheduling, assigning and tracking work orders and communicating with requestors and operations staff.
Responsible for vendor and contractor coordination to include contract administration, access and escort coordination, communication loop with DBG departments, scheduling and invoice processing.
Performs regular property inspections for cleanliness, repair issues and overall property maintenance.
Serves as daily lead to ensure accurate and timely completion of Facility Custodial Technician duties.
Provides daily report of accomplishments/issues.
Operate pressure washer to ensure all exterior hardscape is clean and free of debris, including mechanical power blower.
Ensure tripping, or other safety hazards are immediately reported to supervisor.
Ensures all trash is picked up on the external grounds daily.
Performs quality checks on all custodial and event tasks to ensure satisfactory completion by Facility Custodial Technicians.
Participates in recommending capital repairs, equipment repair and replacement.
Responds to issues on assigned projects and advises pertinent issues to Manager.
Assists with inventory maintenance, supplies purchases and routine preventive maintenance schedules as directed.
Continuously works to innovate and create improved systems and processes.
Other Job Duties:
Assists with the creation/implementation and coordination of assigned projects utilizing contractors, vendors and staff to apply timely repairs to facility components.
Maintains a positive, helpful and solution orientated demeanor when interacting with staff, members and visitors.
Performs other duties as requested by management.
Participates in the development of an operational policy for onsite caterers and events other vendors.

Compensation: $20.19 to $26.40 per hour
