Program Description:
Intercambio is a language exchange program that fosters a supportive and engaging environment for participants to practice language skills and build meaningful connections. Each 5-week cohort includes bi-weekly, 2-hour sessions that combine language exchange with art workshops. The program aims to enhance cultural understanding and cultivate a sense of belonging through bridging exercises. Cohorts consist of 15-20 participants, including both local residents and new arrivals. Sessions will be held on Wednesdays.
Job Description:
The Intercambio Program Cohort Leader is responsible for the overall execution and success of the Intercambio program. This role involves leading and facilitating language exchange and art workshops, managing participant engagement, and ensuring the program aligns with its objectives of fostering cultural understanding and building community connections. The Cohort Leader will create a welcoming and inclusive environment, implement activities from the Bridging Differences Playbook, and maintain accurate records and reports. This position requires a bilingual individual with strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, dedicated to promoting belonging and cultural exchange within the Denver community.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Implementation:
Lead and facilitate all aspects of the Intercambio program, including language exchange sessions and art workshops.
Ensure the program adheres to the established curriculum and objectives.
Create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment for all participants.
Implement activities and modalities from the Bridging Differences Playbook from UC Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center (GGSC).
Manage the day to day operations of each cohort.

- July 31, 2025 (6-7:30 PM) – Inaugural Debut
- September 17th, 2025 (6-7:30 PM)
- September 24th, 2025 (6-7:30 PM)
- October 8th, 2025 (6-7:30 PM)
- October 15th, 2025 (6-7:30 PM)
- October 29th, 2025 (6-7:30 PM)
- November 5th, 2025 (6-7:30 PM)
- November 7th, 2025 (5-9 PM) – Final Celebration
Participant Engagement:
Foster active participation and engagement during sessions.
Ensure all participants fill out required reports.
Reporting and Communication:
Provide regular updates and reports to the Community Engagement Manager on program progress and participant feedback.
Maintain accurate records of participant attendance and engagement.
Assist in evaluating the program’s effectiveness and identifying areas for improvement.
End of session Debrief with Museo Grants Department, Executive Director and Program Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Fluency in both English and Spanish (written and spoken) is required.
- Experience in leading or facilitating language exchange programs, workshops, or community-based initiatives.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse audiences.
- Cultural sensitivity and a commitment to promoting inclusivity and belonging.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of the Bridging Differences Playbook from UC Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center (GGSC) or willingness to learn.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Reliable and punctual
Preferred:
- Experience working with migrant communities is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with art-based activities.
DAILY DUTIES
- Assist in the upkeep of the classroom. Throw away trash.
- Close and lock up Museo building after each session.
- The instructor will conduct a pre and post survey with the students and provide a full evaluation of the student progress.
- Meet with Museo Program Manager before each session for admin prep and or support.
- Keep a log of planning hours and prep.
COMMITMENTS
Primarily on-site work at Museo in Denver, CO.
Work schedule will primarily involve Wednesday sessions, with additional time for preparation and reporting.
May require some flexible hours.
Fall Session: 7 weeks, 6 sessions at 2 hours each session.
- 12 hours in session with participants
- 50 hours Program design/planning
Pre-Camp Planning Meeting: 2 hours
Program Design: daily agendas, curriculum, programming schedule for program. 15 hours.
Grant meetings: including final report info meeting and site visits. 8 hours
Sessions: includes set up, take down, and lock up. 12 hours.
Weekly check ins: once a week for 7 weeks. 7 Hours
Final Celebration: Join for celebration of culminating project. 5 hours.
Post-Camp Debrief: session evaluation. 1 hour: TBD
Please note: The listed hours are an approximate estimate based on the initial program design. As this is a new program, the actual hours required may vary, and we require a candidate who is flexible with these potential adjustments.
Total: 62 hours per cohort for 3 total cohorts – $23.50 an hour
