Salary:     $59,500 ~ $80,500/year (depending on experience)

Work Schedule:    Monday ~ Friday | 5 days/week  (3 days on-location ~ 2 days remote)*
*This is a 60/40 hybrid role: in-office approximately 3 days/week, 2 days/week meeting with donors and working remotely. This position must accommodate a flexible work schedule including weekends, evenings, special events, and occasional overnight/out-of-town travel.

Summary
The Major Gifts Officer supports the success of our $3M annual fund by raising gifts of $10,000+ from individuals and private foundations. This position is expected to fundraise from a portfolio of existing donors and new business leads generated by staff, volunteers, and the Board of Directors. The Major Gifts Officer is a member of the Development team reporting to the Chief Development Officer (CDO).

Organization
Founded in 1994 on the former Lowry Air Force Base in east Denver’s historic Lowry Field neighborhood, Wings Over the Rockies is a non-profit community organization dedicated to unlocking dreams of flight through exhibits, local events, and educational programming. We are Colorado’s official Air & Space Museum having been recognized by CNN Travel as one of their 20 Best aviation museums in the world. Each year we welcome roughly 160,000 visitors representing all 50 states and dozens of countries internationally. Wings is committed to diversity, inclusion, and accessibility. Exploration of Flight (EoF) is our flight-focused educational extension. This 15-acre campus is located at the Centennial Airport where we offer showcase events with a variety of aircraft, aviation immersion programs, pilot ground training, and flight experiences. EoF is home to our Blue Sky Gallery exhibit and interactive aviation center featuring an airworthy fleet of civilian and military aircraft.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Cultivate, solicit, and steward prospects and existing donors capable of making gifts of $10,000 and above
• Develop innovative strategies to retain and grow donor contributions
• Meet annual fundraising goal by developing and executing donor engagement plans that result in strategic asks
• Collaborate with leadership to develop strategies to find and nurture high-potential prospects
• Develop meaningful and long-lasting connections with donors that leads to greater affinity of the mission of Wings Over the Rockies
• Grow and sustain strong relationships with major individual and family foundation donors to meet fundraising goals
• Provide updates to database concerning financial forecast, donor interactions and research notes

Working Conditions
The Air & Space Museum operates in an 80-year-old aircraft hangar. Exploration of Flight is located at a busy regional airport. Environmental conditions may vary.
