Position Profile

The Marketing Coordinator assists the Marketing department with promoting Colorado Symphony (CSA) events and stories, with a focus on digital communications. This role works closely with all members of the Marketing team to promote ticket sales and implement general marketing strategies that support the CSA’s mission to ensure the future of live, symphonic music.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Social Media
    • Works with the Director of Digital Marketing & Promotions to implement targeted social media strategy
    • Regularly captures media during rehearsals including behind-the-scenes content and edits as needed for distribution
    • Assists with capturing and editing promotional videos of the orchestra, individual musicians, and guest artists
    • Manages daily content sharing and engagement on all social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram)
    • Creates and manages a social media strategy for the CSA’s MusiCurious Facebook page — specifically curating posts that educate our community about and promote symphonic music, music education, and Education Department events
  • Marketing Website (coloradosymphony.org)
    • Works with the Director of Web Experience on page builds, media updates, and content changes
    • Assists with archival content migration from our current website to our new redesigned website that is currently in progress
  • Tessitura/TNEW (tickets.coloradosymphony.org)
    • Works closely with the Director of Web Experience on performance and package builds within Tessitura and Tessitura Network Express Web (TNEW)
    • Assists with building and testing promotions
    • Monitors the SharePoint Production List to implement miscellaneous content changes to performances
    • Assists with the annual subscription rollover process
  • Marketing Operations
    • Identifies and updates all local and regional online calendars with upcoming CSA events
    • Creates and manages a local canvassing strategy including local community boards and businesses who will display marketing materials
    • Manages and maintains a clear and concise archive of digital and print marketing materials
    • Manages and distributes the weekly Marketing agenda
    • Provides administrative support to the Marketing department

Qualifications and Capabilities

  • Required:
    • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a Marketing or related field
    • Proficient in Microsoft Suite of programs, including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Teams
    • Basic photography and videography knowledge and prior video editing experience
    • Previous experience with WordPress, DNN, or other CMS
    • Previous experience creating and sharing content on various social media platforms for a company or institution
    • Ability to function in a fast-paced, team oriented, constantly changing environment
    • Demonstrates superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines
    • Knowledge of marketing practices
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Preferred
    • Bachelor’s degrees in Arts Administration, Arts Management, Non-Profit Management, Marketing, Communications, or related field
    • Previous experience marketing for a non-profit or performing arts organization
    • Knowledge of web languages including HTML and CSS
    • Prior experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or other professional video editing software.
    • Previous experience with Tessitura database and/or other CRM software
    • A background and/or interest in symphonic music
    • Ability to attend CSA concerts regularly
  • Physical Capabilities
    • Must be able to handle the physical demands commensurate with an active administrative position, including lifting up to 25 lbs. of equipment

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range $40,000-$45,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience
