The Production Manager is responsible for the logistical and technical needs for all rehearsals, performances, camps and tours; directing the Graduate Assistant program; and supervising all production staff.

Reports to the Artistic Director; Full time – 40 hours per week, salaried

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Rehearsal management, to include the following:
    • Logistical needs, including facility reservations and management.
    • Snack inventory; supplies, props, wardrobe, etc.
    • On-site management during rehearsals.
  • Stage management for performances and tours.
  • Tour management, as assigned, to include:
    • Tour Choir Residency, Concert Choir Camp, Tour Choir Performance Tours
  • Supervise production staff, including Wardrobe Manager and Graduate Assistants.
  • Determine logistical needs for all rehearsals and performances.
    • Determine all technical needs, equipment, supplies, props, etc.
    • Communicate with program sponsors regarding technical and logistical needs
    • Maintain accurate records for all performances including audience numbers
    • Parent communications re: rehearsal and performance information
  • Administer and direct the Graduate Assistant Program, including hiring, scheduling, compensation and evaluation.
  • Maintain all storage spaces (to include all production equipment) and keep updated inventory.
  • Maintain records for all performances, including sponsor communications, technical arrangements, facilities, stage manager’s reports, choir memos, etc.
  • Must be available to travel 3-5 weeks per year.

Collaborative duties:

  • Facilitate family relations.
  • Represent the organization in local and national arts venues.
  • Anticipate needs and participate in problem-solving and strategic planning for the organization.

Competencies:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of theatrical lighting and audio systems.
  • Stage management experience.
  • Extremely detail-oriented.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to represent the organization in a professional manner at all times.
  • Appropriate leadership skills in managing high school-aged students.

Qualifications:

  • College degree, preferably in technical theater.
