Definition:
Under the supervision of the Auditorium & Events Manager, the Museum Program Assistant assists with the development and implementation of Adult Public Programs at the Longmont Museum including weekly panels, lectures, conversations and live performances (theater, music, dance, concerts, etc.). The position is a key part of the public programs team and works to help ensure for the overall success of Museum public programs by providing administrative support and excellent customer service at events.
Principal Duties:
• Assist with program research and development, marketing, including online calendars and social media presence, and community outreach.
• Maintain program files, answer emails and phone calls, and provide general administrative assistance to Auditorium & Events Manager.
• Ensure for the overall excellence of Museum public programs and the audience experience by providing excellent customer service.
• Oversee reservations and check-in, artist relations and hospitality.
• Serve as house manager, working in collaboration with front desk/box office and tech crew, and manages audience Q&A.
• Helps ensure the venue is set and ready for programs (including setting up tables, chairs and other equipment as needed).
• Monitors safety and security, enforces museum policies and procedures, models best guest service standards, trouble-shoots problems, and responds to requests.
• Performs essential duties and additional tasks in a manner which enhances City Attributes.
Working Environment:
Working conditions are performed mostly indoors and may involve exposure to hot and cold temperatures, high humidity and moderate to loud background noise. Work requires frequent use of fingers and hands, walking and standing, hearing, speaking, problem solving, math, verbal and written communication. It may involve slippery/uneven walking surfaces, working closely with others, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing and reaching.
Qualifications:
Must be 21 years of age or older. Any combination of experience and education or willingness to learn: house management, nonprofit arts background, performing arts, live music, special events, hospitality and/or catering, venue management, AV equipment, box office management & ticketing. Special Qualifications: Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency preferred.
