Under the direction of Artistic Director, Gil Boggs, Colorado Ballet presents more than 50 performances annually to sold-out audiences in the 2,080-seat Ellie Caulkins Opera House.
Position Overview
Colorado Ballet is looking for an individual to support the Production Department at the Colorado Ballet Armstrong Center for Dance, as well as in performances. This position also supports the Education and Community Engagement Department and the Academy. This position requires someone who is energetic, creative and good at self-management and multitasking.
Key Duties and Functions
- Supports Production Stage Manager as required for main stage productions. This will include setting rehearsal rooms, gathering rehearsal props, and attending studio rehearsals, SL or SR responsibilities, cueing performers, giving calls, handling performance crises, creating show paperwork for the crew (prop, deck, electrics, and rail run sheets). Carries out all assignments given by the PSM on a per production basis.
- Opportunity to call main stage productions.
- Supports Director of Production
- Supports the Education and Community Engagement department for school performances. This includes driving a truck to performances, setting up dance floor. Setting up and running sounds and lights
- Stage Manages Colorado Ballet Academy performances in the Black Box theatre and the Ellie Caulkins Opera house.
- Looks after technical requirements in ballet studios. This includes making sure sound and video equipment is in good working order and troubleshooting any issues.
- Maintains archival performance recordings. This includes loading existing DVD’s onto virtual platforms
- Runs technical requirements in the ACD Black Box for events
- Cares for the Black Box Theatre including maintaining equipment
- Provides Video/Sound needs for Artistic Staff
- Looks after basic building maintenance requirements. This includes keeping an eye on grounds, lightbulbs, carpeting issues, plumbing issues and general maintenance that arises.
Relevant Experience:
- Two years experience as an assistant stage manger
- Strong theatre technical skills
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- Must have a current driver’s license
- Ability to read music a plus
Compensation and Benefits:
