Access Gallery, a nonprofit organization, provides creative, economic, and educational opportunities for people with disabilities. Currently Access Gallery is seeking a part-time Summer Internship Manager who will help guide interns through a summer program, lead workshops on job skill development, and support artists in their creative endeavors. This position takes place in a fun, creative and flexible environment with the opportunity to network with professionals in the arts and the nonprofit sector, as well as make a difference in our community. This work will be performed at the studio located in Denver, CO.
Position hours include Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 9:30 to 3:30pm plus 2 hours of planning time per week. Position runs from June 8 through August 7th, 2026.
General Purpose:
The Summer Internship Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing Access Gallery’s eight-week creative career-focused internship program for up to eight youth between the ages of 16 and 21 years old. Access Gallery recruits’ interns who participate in classes and work-based projects onsite in the Arts District on Santa Fe. Interns explore advocacy, professionalism, art skills, and job development.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop daily routines and responsibilities for and with interns to follow and provide guidance to ensure autonomous success for all.
- Develop differentiated objectives and scaffold supports for interns who have various disabilities.
- Assist interns each day in the various classes and projects they will be working on. Foster an environment that helps interns prepare for each project throughout the day.
- Develop and facilitate job skill development workshop for interns, such as portfolio development, presentation skills etc.
- Create a supportive community among the interns for them to work on collaborative projects, support one another, and work as an effective team.
- Assist interns with a culminating presentation of their internship.
- Complete progress reports at the end of each month to submit evaluation to funders.
- Assist staff with intern files and paperwork.
- Develop & increase job skills with interns such as time management, workplace communication, technology etiquette, self-advocacy, project completion, and other soft job skills.
- Assist Teaching Artists in art production and creating opportunities for the interns to develop skills in critical thinking, decision-making, risk-taking, and leadership.
Job Qualifications:
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in education, program management, and/or working with youth who have disabilities.
- Knowledge of the disability community and strategies to support individuals from diverse populations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to encourage participation and project completion.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable in management
- Ability to set and support boundaries and expectations.
- Experience with art-making techniques is a plus, but not essential.
Benefits Offered:
This part-time position would not qualify for healthcare benefits; however, would qualify for coverage under workman’s compensation insurance.
Physical Requirements of This Position:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. This person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as laptops, iPads, copy machine, and computer printer.

Compensation: $25 per hour
