Job Title: Technical Director

Reports to: Production Mgr./Program Director

Location: JCC Denver                                    

Pay Rate: $3,600 (6 Weeks)

Job Function:

The Wolf Theatre Academy Technical Director (TD) will be the technical lead and main point of contact for all technical needs for the WTA summer production.  The Technical Director is the master carpenter for the production, and as such, is responsible for the building, painting, loading in and striking of the scenery.  The Technical Director and their staff are responsible for building and acquiring all props, set dressing, and furniture for the mainstage production.

The Technical Director is also responsible for assigning backstage crew assignments for the Wolf Theatre Academy main stage summer production and supervising the tech staff to oversee the students.  The Technical Director is responsible for maintaining a safe, organized, and clean environment in the scene shop at all times.  The Technical director is expected to supervise students and staff in the shop as they help build scenic elements for the mainstage show.

During the build process, Technical Director will be required to read design plans, operate power tools, cut lumber, paint scenery, build theatrical props, and assist students in accomplishing these tasks as provided by the Scenic Designer and show design paperwork.  The Technical Director is expected to attend all production meetings and to act as the main point of contact for any technical needs.

The Technical Director must have prior experience and knowledge in the following areas:

  • Scenic Carpentry
  • Scenic Artistry
  • Property Creation and Acquisition
  • Sound Operation and Maintenance
  • Lighting Operation and Maintenance
  • Teaching Student Technicians

Monday – Friday June 12th-June 27th: 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm;

Beginning Monday June 30th Monday-Friday 9:00 am- 4pm
Performances: Wednesday July 9th @ 7:00pm Thursday June 10 @ 11:00am and 7:00 pm; Friday July 11 @ 11:00 am; Sunday, July 13 @ 1:00 pm
