Kol Nashim (lit. “Voices of Women”), the treble choir of the Colorado Hebrew Chorale, is a community choir based in Denver, which shares the mission of the Colorado Hebrew Chorale: to preserve, promote, and celebrate Jewish music by performing for diverse audiences, with an additional focus on women’s concerns. With the retirement of its founding music director, Leah Peer, Kol Nashim is actively seeking a new conductor.
Responsibilities of this position include leading and directing Kol Nashim in all aspects, including concert programming and artistic and creative endeavors, and assisting with the Colorado Hebrew Chorale’s artistic director and board of directors in administrative and organizational matters.
Desired qualifications/skills include: a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in music with conducting, music education, or voice emphasis; significant experience conducting choral ensembles; willingness to collaborate as part of an artistic team; and an energetic and positive personality with good communication skills.
This is a part-time position requiring approximately 5 -8 hours per week. Salary range: $7,000 – $8,000.
