Free Days Are For You!

Organizations from across the metro area provide hundreds of free days and free programs each year made possible, in part, by funding from SCFD. (Printable 2026 free day bookmark – PDF.)

Some organizations are free every day such as Hudson Gardens, Broomfield Veterans Museum, City of Lakewood Art Exhibitions, Heritage Lakewood Belmar Park, Foothills Art Center, Colorado Music Hall of Fame, Depot Art Gallery, and Louisville History Museum! Check back here soon for a full list!

Nature Center and Park Visitation - The Carson Nature Center is open Tuesday through Friday for drop in visitation from 12 - 4:30pm. Visit live animals, build city on our flood table, and explore exhibits. Over 6 miles of trails in the open space, and five fishing lakes are open sunrise to sunset daily.

Children’s Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus

Joy Park Free Night - In collaboration with Denver Parks and Recreation, Joy Park and Adventure Forest will be open for free on Friday July 17, August 21 and September 25 from 4:30 - 8 pm. Tips for a Great Visit: Reservations are not required for this event, just show up and enjoy! Prepare for climbing, digging, zip-lining, splashing, all-in play by bringing sunscreen, towels, a change of clothes and extra socks. Please note: Joy Park Free Nights are rain or shine. In the case of severe weather, Joy Park and Adventure Forest will close. Except for the restrooms, the inside of the Museum will be closed. Pets are not allowed in Joy Park. Service dogs are always welcome.

Step right up and experience a free, family‑friendly screening of The Greatest Showman, the dazzling musical that celebrates imagination, courage, and the joy of bringing people together. Sing along to unforgettable songs as P.T. Barnum and his extraordinary cast light up the screen with heart, spectacle, and vibrant storytelling. Historic Elitch Gardens Theatre

Concert in the Carousel – Denver Mandolin Orchestra and Sentimental Sounds. The Denver Mandolin Orchestra will be doing a free 1-hour performance at the Old Elitch Gardens Carousel House at 3775 Tennyson St. DMO will be playing a music of many genres from various eras. They share the bill with Sentimental Sounds, playing beloved melodies for a warm summer evening. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Bring lawn chair seating and blankets to enjoy this free Concert in the Carousel!
