Payrate:    $29 ~ $32/hour (depending on experience) + $4/hour shift differential premium for night shifts (12am – 6am)

Work Schedule:    Monday ~ Friday* | 10am ~ 6pm* | 40 hours/week
*This position must accommodate a flexible work schedule including regular weekends and evenings for special events as well as occasional off-site travel.

The Event Sales & Operations Manager is a driven and passionate professional responsible for generating new business and orchestrating extraordinary private and corporate events at both Wings Over the Rockies locations. This role owns the full event journey—from the first warm introduction to the final farewell—with a commitment to making every touchpoint feel personal and intentional.

The Event Sales & Operations Manager will blend sales savvy with a gift for hospitality, confidently making outreach calls, closing deals, and making events run smoothly with precision and excellent communication. You’ll anticipate needs clients didn’t know they had and ensure that every guest walk away feeling seen and heard.

As a member of the Corporate Events department, the Event Sales & Operations Manager works closely with the Events Manager team and cross-organizationally with staff from Facilities, Visitor Services, Public Programs, etc. The Event Sales & Operations Manager reports to the Director of Corporate Sales & Events.

Founded in 1994 on the former Lowry Air Force Base in east Denver’s historic Lowry Field neighborhood, Wings Over the Rockies is a non-profit community organization dedicated to unlocking dreams of flight through exhibits, local events, and educational programming. We are Colorado’s official Air & Space Museum having been recognized by CNN Travel as one of their 20 Best aviation museums in the world. Exploration of Flight (EoF) is our flight-focused educational extension. This 15-acre campus is located at the Centennial Airport where we offer showcase events with a variety of aircraft, aviation immersion programs, pilot ground training, and flight experiences. EoF is home to our Blue Sky Gallery exhibit and interactive aviation center featuring an airworthy fleet of civilian and military aircraft.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development (Pre-Event)

  • Respond with urgency to every event inquiry, treating each potential client like a valued guest from the first interaction
  • Cultivate and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads by building authentic, lasting relationships with corporate clients, event planners, DMCs, and local partners
  • Conduct site visits and personalized client meetings and customized proposals that anticipate needs of event
  • Prepare contracts, quotes, and invoices using the museum’s booking software, ensuring clarity, ease, and a sense of trust throughout the process
  • Negotiate with integrity, aiming for win-win outcomes that foster long-term client loyalty
  • Consistently achieve or exceed monthly and annual sales goals through service-focused selling
  • Proactively generate new business through meaningful outreach—whether by phone, email, or in-person—always leading with hospitality and curiosity
  • Maintain detailed records of client interactions, ensuring follow-through and personal touches at every step

Event Coordination & Execution (Planning & Execution)

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, guiding them from signed contract to post-event follow-up with care and confidence
  • Coordinate all event logistics—floor plans, timelines, and vendors—with precision and creativity
  • Lead walkthroughs and execute flawless events on-site, creating seamless experiences and unexpected moments of delight
  • Ensure every event meets the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and heartfelt hospitality

Client Experience & Relationship Management

  • Create memorable, personalized experiences through clear, thoughtful communication and meticulous attention to detail
  • Go beyond expectations to make every client feel valued—from the first conversation to post-event follow-up
  • Build clients into a portfolio to create lasting relationships with repeat clients and partners

Internal Collaboration & Admin Support

  • Partner across departments and with external vendors to ensure every event reflects seamless teamwork and exceptional standards
  • Share stories, photos, and feedback that highlight meaningful moments and support ongoing marketing and improvement efforts
  • Maintain organized systems, contribute ideas generously in team meetings, and help elevate in-house events with the same level of care and intentionality given to every client

Working Conditions
The Air & Space Museum operates in an 80-year-old aircraft hangar. Exploration of Flight is located at a busy regional airport. Environmental conditions may vary.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 3 ~ 5 years of experience in event sales, planning, or hospitality management, preferably in a venue, museum, or cultural institution
  • Proven success in B2B sales, client relationship building, and revenue generation
  • Demonstrated ability to manage full-cycle event coordination—from proposal to execution—with precision and poise
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a talent for making people feel seen and valued
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with impeccable attention to detail
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with event management software (e.g., Tripleseat, Salesforce, or similar), MS Office, Google Workspace, etc.
  • Background in hospitality, guest services, or high-touch client environments
  • Experience working with nonprofit organizations, museums, or mission-driven institutions
  • Knowledge of the Denver events market and connections with local planners or vendors
  • Familiarity with marketing, social media, or promotional support related to events
  • A service-first mentality and a genuine desire to create experiences for clients
  • High emotional intelligence and a collaborative spirit
  • Creative problem-solving with a calm, can-do attitude
  • Able to lift/squat/carry 25+ lbs. including chairs, tables, equipment, and other supplies

Compensation: $29 ~ $32/hour (depending on experience)
