Position Description

Cleo Parker Robinson Dance (CPRD) seeks to hire a Marketing Manager to provide key leadership and support for the growth and visibility of the organization. As a core member of the Development team, the Marketing Manager reports to the Director of Director and works closely with the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble Artistic Director as well as other organizational pillar leadership.


The Marketing Manager is principally responsible for the following activities: 1) Organize and oversee the digital content creation, management and disbursement of, as well as attending events and acting as an ambassador for CPRD.  2) Lead strategies to retain and build audiences and increase earned revenue streams for new and existing opportunities 3) Provide key support to the development and marketing team in driving forward the mission and values of CPRD and implementing marketing strategy for CPRD organizational pillars with an emphasis on the CPRD Ensemble Home Season.  4) Work with the Director of Development to achieve contributed revenue goals for the organization.


Based in Five Points, Denver, CPRD is an anchor arts institution rooted in cultural traditions of the African Diaspora and dedicated to cross-cultural connections.  The organization is comprised of five pillars, namely, the CPRD Ensemble, Academy, Theatre, Arts-in-Education and Arts-in-Wellbeing programs.  The Development Associate, a key member of the development team, is responsible for helping cultivate partnerships and implement strategies in collaboration with senior leadership to ensure accessibility and viability of each program and activity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Responsibilities and Essential Functions


  • Plan, implement and oversee the execution of CPRD’s marketing strategy, including and earned paid media, PR, digital marketing, and virtual programming to meet ticket revenue goals
  • Manages the design all marketing collateral and digital media assets for CPRD Ensemble Home Season and Tours, The Academy, Arts-in-Education programs, special events, and fundraising activities
  • Guide the day-to-day activities of the marketing department
  • Work closely with Artistic Director and artistic team to create imagery that tells the CPRD story and communicates the artistic vision
  • Under the direction of the Development Director, establish annual marketing budget, ticket revenue projections and other performance metrics
  • Work collaboratively with creative agency and Marketing Advisory to create and implement season creative concepts and brand standards
  • Create and manage a calendar of events and deadlines, ensuring that all deliverables are on time
  • Works to build audiences through patron cultivation events
  • Lead the organization in establishing and fulfilling high standards in customer service and audience experience
  • Plan and implement patron engagement events
  • Database maintenance- helping run reports, update information and generate lists for events
  • Manage CPRD’s social media presence, staying up to date with social media trends and best practices; measure success of social media campaigns
  • Receive and present press inquiries, including photo and video requests, in a timely manner; draft and deliver press invitations for opening performances and other events
  • Project-manage photo calls, video capture, site visits, interviews, and media editing as necessary
  • Analyze and utilize data collected via TicketFM to measure success of campaigns, use market research to inform strategy and decisions
  • Maintain relationships with vendors for the production of marketing materials
  • Manage the website content, updating copy and content as needed (basic HTML and WordPress knowledge required)
  • Attend CPRD Ensemble performances and events, to connect with folks and gather ideas on how to better serve and engage various stakeholder groups

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends
  • 2+ years of experience in marketing, communications or public relations
  • Strong computer skills; fluent in Microsoft Office, Mail Chimp, and Website Content Management Systems; Google Adwords/Analytics and Adobe Creative Suite knowledge preferred
  • Works well alone as well as under direct supervision
  • Value and passion for vision and mission of Cleo Parker Robinson Dance
  • Technologically knowledgeable, skilled with spreadsheets, presentations
  • Strong planning, communications, interpersonal skills whether speaking to others in person, over the phone, via email or letters

Class:  Full Time, Salaried, Exempt



Salary Range: $34,500-$38,500
