Marketing Manager

This is a full-time staff position with an annual salary of $58,500. Wonderbound provides health insurance and pays 95% of this cost for all employees.

As Marketing Manager, you’ll be a pivotal member of a small and committed team guiding a unique and growing arts organization that is gaining local and national esteem.

Wonderbound is a nonprofit, professional dance company in Denver, Colorado that is celebrated for creating original artistic experiences for its broad community. 

You have:

  • A degree in marketing, communications, public relations, English, related field, or equivalent work experience
  • At least three years in a professional marketing role
  • Layout and design expertise
  • Worked in the arts, entertainment and/or nonprofit industries

Your responsibilities would include:

  • Developing and implementing integrated communication and marketing plans that build Wonderbound’s audience and market share
  • Maintaining clarity and consistency in Wonderbound’s brand position and ensuring it reflects the mission, vision, and values of the organization
  • Creating and maintaining content for a broad and balanced communication and marketing program that includes print, email, web, media, and PR
  • Layout and design of Wonderbound’s physical programs for its season of four productions as well as other special events
  • Building and maintaining a broad range of relationships in local and national media
  • Maintaining/updating individual donor lists. Generating and emailing/mailing tax receipts for all individual donations; generating individual donor reports per Wonderbound President’s request.
  • Maintaining Wonderbound’s website
  • Staffing all Wonderbound’s public programs and events, including inventory for concessions and bar
  • Representing Wonderbound at local events
  • Providing any assistance needed to Wonderbound’s President

Your typical day could include:

  • Quickly creating a “Save the Date” with InDesign for a new event that you and the President put on the calendar that day
    Following up with partners, advertisers and collaborators about their ads/bios as you finish the layout for the upcoming show program
  • Getting a quote from the printer for fliers for the Board
  • Pulling a donor report for the upcoming show program and sharing with the President
  • Finalizing and scheduling an email blast to go out the following week
  • Sending a press release for the upcoming production to all media contacts
  • Scheduling an interview for the Artistic Director with a reporter
  • Helping to set up the studio space for a cultivation event happening that evening

Job Truths

Wonderbound punches well above its weight by presenting world-class productions with the tightest of budgets and a small but mighty staff. This is a salaried staff position, and some periods will be much busier than others. (You’ll work hard.)

Your daily schedule can vary significantly when Wonderbound is in season. From October through May, we present four productions with 40 performance days plus audience cultivation and fundraising events throughout the year. (You’ll help staff all of them.)

Travel to and from work is required. (You’ll need a car.)
