COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT INTERN – JOB DESCRIPTION
Phamaly Theatre Company is the premiere disability-affirmative theatre organization in the country. Since 1989, Phamaly has been a home for theatre artists with disabilities and leads the field in accessible theatre practices. The Community Engagement Intern is a part-time, summer, stipend internship from June 1, 2026- August 28, 2026 with Phamaly Theatre Company. The Community Engagement Manager (or CEM) primarily reports to the Managing Director but also works closely with the Artistic Director and collaboratively with the Marketing and Communications Manager. This position has a flexible schedule and will require some work during business hours, weekends, and evenings.
Preferred Candidates:
- Are outgoing and comfortable with communicating with people from all walks of life.
- Are organized and comfortable managing volunteers.
- Have experience with the disability community and/or JEDI practices.
- Have a background in theatre, education, or community or disability services.
- Have a reliable vehicle and can travel throughout the Denver Metro when needed.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Attend community events throughout the Denver Metro to best spread awareness of Phamaly Theatre Company and recruit diverse actors and audiences.
- Coordinate feature organization lobby tables during 504: The Musical.
- Communicate Phamaly’s mission and vision to the community at large.
- Manage community event calendar and schedule volunteers and staff to work booths at festivals, etc. Communicate all event logistics to staff and volunteers.
- Work with the Operations Manager and Marketing and Communications Manager to manage booth supplies (flyers, swag, etc) and pack supplies for events.
- Attend weekly staff meetings.
- Assist with group ticket sales, particularly with coordination for partner organizations attending productions.
Compensation:
Stipend of $1,000. $300 paid on first day, $350 on July 15th, $350 on August 28th.
