POSITION PURPOSE:  The mission of St. Martin’s Chamber Choir is to perform classical choral music to the highest professional standards, and to inspire appreciation of the choral art by educating audiences and the wider community through the presentation of both beloved choral works and the unearthing of forgotten hidden historical gems.

The Executive Director oversees and administers all programs, fundraising, and strategic plans for the organization.

Board Governance: The Executive Director of St. Martin’s Chamber Choir will work with the Board to fulfill the mission of the organization, and will be responsible for communicating effectively with the Board; providing timely, accurate information necessary for the Board to function properly and make informed decisions.

Financial Performance & Viability: The Executive Director (ED) will also be responsible for the fiscal integrity of the organization to include submission of a proposed annual budget for review by the Finance Committee and then to the Board for approval. In addition, the Executive Director will submit monthly financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization. The ED is responsible for operating within the approved budget, ensuring maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position. The ED is responsible for fundraising and developing other resources necessary to support the choir’s mission.

Organization Mission and Strategy: The ED is responsible for the implementation of all programs that carry out St. Martin’s mission. The ED is responsible for strategic planning to ensure that the choir can successfully fulfill its mission into the future. She/he is also responsible for the enhancement of the choir’s image by being active and visible in the community.

Organization Operations: Oversees and implements appropriate resources to ensure efficient and effective operations. The ED is responsible for signing all notes, contracts, and agreements entered into on behalf of the organization. ED is responsible for hiring and retention of qualified staff. The ED coordinates with the Artistic Director in the accomplishment of organization goals and mission.

 Desired Qualifications:  A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, and approximately 5 years of experience in an arts or non-profit organization including 3 years in a leadership position of supervision, administration or management.  Some of this experience must include responsibility for a range of fundraising activities.  Knowledge of bookkeeping using QuickBooks is desirable and will increase the starting salary within the posted range.


Salary:  $50,000 to $55,000 depending on qualifications and experience.


Remote working:  Is permitted as the job duties permit.
