Description

Four Mile Historic Park is hiring two (2) Seasonal Guest Experience Associates (30–35 hours/week) from July 1st, 2026 through October 31, 2026. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about creating an enjoyable event experience, enjoys working with the public, and thrives in a dynamic, high-traffic environment.

This position will take primary responsibility for front desk, ticketing, and visitor services operations during the Park’s Bright Nights program, held Wednesday through Sunday evenings during the summer, while also supporting private events and other Park programming. Responsibilities include managing admissions and retail sales, assisting with event setup and breakdown, providing information to guests, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

The ideal candidate is friendly, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to problem-solve in real time while delivering outstanding hospitality. Strong communication skills and a commitment to excellent guest experience are essential.

This is a non-exempt, in-person position. Regular schedule is Wednesday–Sunday evenings.

Responsibilities

Visitor Services & Guest Experience:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for guests, providing friendly, solutions-oriented customer service in person, over the phone, and online
  • Manage front desk operations during general admission hours and special events
  • Process admissions and gift shop sales using point-of-sale systems
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk, lobby, and retail space
  • Provide accurate information about the Park, programs, and policies
  • Monitor visitor flow and help ensure a safe and positive environment for all guests
  • Implement appropriate procedures in response to emergencies or safety concerns

Event & Program Support:

  • Assist in the setup, execution, and breakdown of public and private events and programs
  • Support guest check-in, crowd management, and event logistics
  • Serve as a point of contact for guests and assist vendors, performers, and staff as needed
  • Take on additional responsibilities during events.

Operations & Administrative Support:

  • Support daily opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and reconciliation
  • Answer and direct phone calls and general inquiries
  • Collaborate with other departments to maintain and update the Park calendar
  • Assist with light cleaning and upkeep of public-facing spaces
  • Provide occasional support for Education Center operations and other Park needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (e.g., retail, museum, guest services, or similar)
  • Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable interacting with diverse audiences
  • Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service in fast-paced environments
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Computer literacy required (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, POS/ticketing systems)
  • Ability to articulate the mission of Four Mile Historic Park and interpret policies for visitors
  • Flexible schedule required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds
  • Ability to stand, speak, and actively engage with guests for extended periods
  • Work may occur both indoors and outdoors across the Park’s 12-acre site

Schedule & Compensation

Seasonal (30–35 hours/week) with evening and weekend work required.

Pay: $25/hour.
